Post Change Of Career
Hi good people. . . Greetings to you all. Please, I'm using a handheld device to post this. I am currently studying Industrial physics in one of the universities in my home country, but I really do enjoy reading text books of geology/geophysics alot. I have developed strong passion for this earth science courses, I would want to change a career after my first degree by going further to post graduate diploma to study applied geophysics and post graduate degree for geophysics or petrophysics, but my fears are as follows; will I be considered during recruitment exercise despite my first degree being industrial physics? Can I gain employment with the Post grad. diploma without an Msc? What's your assesement? Does it really worth it? Thanks for reading as I await your responses.

Post Re: Change Of Career
To my knowledge, most big companies hire grads regardless of their technical background. They assess you on your drive, how you get stuff done, your relationships/social skills and your analytical skills. Technical knowledge comes last, and only positions you for your first role usually... Internal training is pretty good in most big comps....

Get a technical degree and get in a company, worry abou what you wnat to be later (but be prepared to answer during an interview, but this can always change later of course)
