Post Career: From Mudlogging to Wellsite Geology
Hello everyone!

My name is Ricardo and I am currently working as a Geologist Data Engineer in Mudlogging units. I have been working almost 5 years now and am trying to get into Wellsite Geology.

I'm from Europe (Portugal) and have worked before in Lybia (until the revolution) and am now in the North Sea.

I would like to ask if anyone can give me any tips on how to get to Wellsite Geologist. I have been sending a lot of CVs but so far no luck altough I did get a nice number of phone calls up until a month ago or so.

Thanks!
Very happy to have found this place!

Is there no way to move to a wellsite geo within the company you are working for now? I think that's the best way... or talk to the geo's that come to your rig and try to make some friends.

Unfortunatelly the company I'm in doesn't have WSG, strange I know, but they can't even seem to keep the Data Engineers and Mudloggers in general. Starting in another mudlogging company will take a lot of time again.

I know a couple of WSGs that help me as references. If I had a Canadian visa I would be a WSG right now, but in Europe I'm not that well connected.

Thanks for your reply! :)

it is possible to change form mudlogger to Well site geologist, if u have geology background in ur master degree. several companies like geoservices etc. used to hire like that.
but perior to become geologist u must have some information about loganalysis & decision making at site.
