URGENT: Working for a leading provider of geophysical products and services delivering the latest innovations in quantitative and rock physics...you will provide accurate and timely delivery of quantitative seismic interpretation services and to provide support and mentoring to the QI team as required. Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• BSc (or higher) in Geosciences, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or any other analytical discipline degree essential. Higher qualifications desired.
• A minimum of 8 years oil and gas work experience essential.
• Solid knowledge of theory and application of Rock Physics and seismic inversion essential.
• Proven technical knowledge of the QI Integrated workflow essential (Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geology, Reservoir Engineering disciplines)
• Desire to promote technical awareness essential – must have a passion for learning about emerging technologies, processes and practices.
• Previous experience of industry technologies essential (e.g. RokDoc. Jason software, Hampson & Russell, Kingdom, Petrel, VoxelGeo, Geolog).
• Strong client interfacing skills essential – the ability to project manage services and convey technical content in a coherent manner.
• Strong project and time management skills essential.
• Previous Team leadership skills highly desired – the ability to lead and provide support is a core requirement.
• Have a good command of written and spoken English.
• Creative, passionate and have a good personality.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – ability to present at high level industry events and to major oil company Clients.
• Motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
• Has the ability to work with all levels to accomplish goals.
• Drive and ambition to succeed within a fast growing Company.
• Ability to travel as required throughout Asia Pacific.
Job Description
Reporting to the Services Manager Asia Pacific, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Become competent in the use of the Company’s technologies, service offerings, workflows and practices.
• Establish yourself as a key technical geoscientist within the QI Team and all technical and managerial staff in the region.
• Build relationships of trust with clients – understanding their technical project requirements, challenges and constraints.
• Complete QI related projects - including a range of activities such as:
? Advanced interpretation of well log data.
? Performing advanced Rock Physics analysis
? Performing reservoir characterisation from seismic analysis.
? Some projects you will complete independently.
• Liaise with Clients –Update them throughout the delivery of the project.
• Promote good Project Management throughout the Team – i.e. projects are delivered to the highest technical standard on time and within budget.
• Deliver high quality presentations and reports to clients.
• Mentor and guide junior staff – Promote/champion continuous technical understanding, best practice, and technical excellence across the QI Team.
• Support the Sales/Business Development in promoting the Company’s services and software.
• Be proactive in raising your own profile as a “Technical Expert” – keep abreast of industry trends, technologies (both Company and Competitors), conferences, technical journals etc.
