As our Exploration and Geophysics Workflow Consultant your primary responsibility will be to provide functionality and workflow support to the Exploration and Development teams based in Australia. This role will include user training, mentoring and Workflow advisor training. You will also be part of a the Subsurface and Wells team supporting up to 65 Users of geophysics and exploration software in our Perth office. The portfolio of software includes Shell proprietary tools in addition to industry standard applications. Training will be provided for Shell's own tools where required.
Key Requirements
With a degree in a Geoscience discipline, you will also be a technical professional with broad Oil & Gas industry experience.
We would like you to be skilled in the use and/or support of seismic interpretation software.
Candidates with experience in the support and management of subsurface data and/or technical subsurface IT systems will also be considered. Geophysical data management and infrastructure skills will be an advantage as will coaching and mentoring experience.
Applicants should be self-motivated individuals who are able to contribute fully as part of a virtual Global team still maintaining local operational focus.
Job Description
You will also play a key role in the continued deployment of Shell’s differentiating interpretation and visualization software in Perth. There will be opportunities to contribute to global technology projects and be a part of Shell’s emerging global support networks.
Furthermore, you will be part of a larger Subsurface and Wells support team in Perth providing integrated end-to-end support to its business customers. Overall responsibilities as part of this team include Exploration and Geophysics workflow support, subsurface data and information management, Geomatics and subsurface IT support.
This position is part of a key drive of the Subsurface & Wells business to improve productivity with improved support to the Exploration and Development Teams, as well as contributing to project delivery.
