Repsol is seeking an experienced Geophysics Consultant to join the Upstream direction.
Key Requirements
Ph.D Degree in Geophysics or a related field from an accredited university.
• 15-20 years experience in petroleum geophysics for E&P Company.
• Experience working in multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Experience in seismic data calibration, reservoir characterization and hydrocarbon detection from seismic.
• Capable of identifying,ranking of reservoir uncertainties and assessing their impact on overall project value.
• Strong understanding of borehole seismic (VSP, ovsp, wvsp, crosswell seismic, Microseismic etc.) data acquisition, processing and interpretation
• Understanding of seismic data acquisition and processing methods in on-land and offshore areas along with their impact on data interpretation accuracy and validity.
• Apply geophysical experience working with cross-functional teams on reservoir and field development activities associated with stacked oil and gas pays
• Understanding of seismic modeling software 3D / Multi-component seismic Processing
Job Description
Repsol is seeking an experienced Geophysics Consultant to join the Upstream direction. The incumbent is expected to perform one or more of the following activities, the number and combination depending on the assignment.
• Capable of conducting in-depth analyses of geophysical data (surface and borehole) to evaluate the adequacy of field data acquisition parameters, processing techniques and interpretation methods.
• Acts as a technical advisor, providing expert counsel and direction to other geoscientists, applying the techniques of his specialized field in the various studies and research projects.
• Undertakes or directs specialized studies on applied research or specific problems leading to 3D Reservoir Characterization concepts, fit-for-purpose workflows and techniques ( 4D, EOR, CO2 storage, etc..).
• Good understanding of reserves/ resources assessment, can contribute to the estimation of reserves and related uncertainties.
• Capable of applying quantitative interpretation techniques such as seismic reservoir characterization, AVO analysis, seismic inversion, 4D seismic, Multi-component seismic etc., to optimize appraisal and development of hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Capable of critically reviewing work of other geophysicists upon request and submits recommendations.
• Keeps up to date in his specialized discipline by constantly attending technical conferences/workshops/ meetings to ensure all recent developments are used in Repsol center of technology and research.
• Assists in training geoscientists through discussions and work sessions. Performs the administrative functions required to implement the studies and research assigned to his discipline.
