Our Client -
A well known international oil company that has been experiencing significant growth across their North Sea and international assets and as such are seeking a Senior or Chief Development Geophysicist to lead the field development project in the North Sea.
Job Description -
The position has been developed in order to allow the current Head of Geophysics to focus on the exploration side of the business, whilst installing a technical development specialist into the business. The role sits very closely with the Head of Geophysics to lead field development studies and provide assistance to junior team members. This role will not involve team management but there will be expectations to assist in the development of the UKNS team through imparting your knowledge and mentoring colleagues when necessary, but predominantly provide quality control for seismic interpretations, volumetric calculations and geomodelling.
This role can be based in the organisation's London or Aberdeen office.
Candidate Requirements -
- Degree qualified in Geophysics or a similar subject, ideally accompanied by further studies
- Extensive experience in development geophysics for an operator
- Experience of conducting numerous field development studies for a variety of basins
- North Sea asset experience
- A strong working knowledge of Seisworks and Kingdom software
- The ability and desire to mentor team members and impart technical knowledge
- The ability to lead projects from a technical and quality control perspective
