Based in London and initially reporting into the Technical Director, the Senior Development Geophysicist will be a key member of the technical team.
Key Requirements
• University degree in geology/geophysics or science to honours level or higher. Masters degree/PhD in a related subject would be advantageous.
Experience
• 10 years+ relevant all round geophysical experience, primarily with operators in an asset geophysicist role.
• International experience and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Skilled user of current state of the art geophysical interpretation software for 2D and 3D seismic interpretation, Petrel preferred.
• Experience in field appraisal and development
• Experienced in structural and stratigraphic seismic interpretation, fault analysis, quantitative seismic interpretation, reservoir characterisation, depth conversion, structural geology, sequence stratigraphy, well planning, logand petro-acoustic analysis.
• Seismic acquisition and Seismic processing exposure
• Understanding of risk and uncertainty
• Good knowledge of Geology and Petrophysics and record of integrated geoscience team work
• Knowledge of reservoir engineering
• Work experience in the Caspian and FSU an advantage
• Experience with presentations to internal management, partners and governmental agencies

The London based team member will be expected to undertake occasional visits to Turkmenistan and to other countries as dictated by project needs.
Job Description
• Acquire, process and interpret a 3D seismic survey over the Turkmenistan structure
• Develop exploration and appraisal drilling programmes
• Evaluate exploration / appraisal wells on the structure
• Build static and dynamic subsurface models
• Ensure that all conditions of the PSA are met including all government reporting requirements
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to partners and government
• Maintain the highest HSE standards at all times
The London based team members will be expected to undertake occasional visits to Turkmenistan and to other countries as dictated by project needs.
Specific to the Senior Development Geophysicist would be the responsibility to:
• Assist the Chief Geophysicist in the design, acquisition and processing for Seismic Work Programmes
• Deliver state of the art geophysical interpretations of the prospect
• Understand the regional geological picture and integrate that knowledge into the seismic interpretation and reservoir model
• Interpret 2D and 3D seismic volumes over the structure.
• Identify, contract and participate in external studies required to optimise the geophysical interpretation
• Select well locations from existing 2D and 3D seismic volumes, produce well prognoses, statement of requirements, monitor well operations and aid coordination of well drilling activities with the drilling/operations team
• Evaluate new wells on the structure and integrate new data into the seismic interpretation models
• Aid building of 3D static reservoir models by providing key horizons and fault interpretations and reservoir characterisation from seismic data
• Support of all related subsurface activities
