Based in London and reporting into the Technical Director, the Senior Petroleum Engineer is a key member of the corporate technical team working with the Chief Geologist, Chief Geophysicist and the Drilling Manager.
Key Requirements
Education
• A University degree in engineering or science to honours level
• A Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering preferred
Experience
• A minimum of 10 years relevant all round PE experience, primarily with operators
• Must have international experience and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Have some hands on experience offshore) or in producing fields
• Have a good understanding of transient well test analysis
• Have a good understanding of open hole well logging and log analysis
• Have a good understanding of production technology and cased hole logging
• Been involved in reserves booking process and reporting techniques and standards
• Experience in new ventures and data rooms an advantage
• Experience in FSU countries an advantage
• Knowledge and understanding of other subsurface disciplines and petroleum economics
Job Description
Specific to the Senior Petroleum Engineer would be the responsibility for:
Assisting the Project Team by providing technical expertise, technical oversight and peer review of:
In-house dynamic reservoir models for the FSU assets. Generation of reserves/resources ranges and estimating the uncertainty
Selecting suitable bottom hole locations for the Exploration and Appraisal drilling programmes
Well evaluation plans including, log, core and test programmes
New well evaluation on the structure and data integration into the models
Well test design and analysis
Petroleum engineering studies using state of the art techniques
All reserves booking and reporting which will include working closely with the company’s external reserves consultants
Evaluating new business opportunities specifically looking for hidden upsides that can be exploited by new technology or simply by a new approach
