They are currently recruiting for the position of Lead Conformance Engineer, based in Houston.
Job Description
The Conformance Engineer for the CO2 business unit functions as a technical expert and resource for improving CO2 flood and waterflood performance through execution of conformance engineering principles. The Conformance Engineer works in concert with geoscientists, reservoir and production engineers, and field operations to identify, diagnose, develop, and execute solutions focused on improving sweep efficiency in all types of floods.
The Conformance Engineer will need to have a strong understanding of conformance problem diagnostic techniques and the design and execution of conformation improvement remedies (including mechanical isolations systems, remedial cementing, and the utilization of polymers and other conformance products).
Skills & Experience
- BS degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline, MS degree preferred
- Extensive production and reservoir engineering experience with focus on flood management and improving flood efficiency
- Previous production engineering including completions/workover preparation and evaluations for injectors and producers
- Proficiency in reservoir flood - pattern management practices including pattern surveillance, material balance, injection profile analysis, injection optimization, and performance forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to use petroleum engineering knowledge to diagnose and solve problems associated with flood volumetric sweep efficiency
- Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations even when datasets are conflicting or incomplete
- Ability to interact and work effectively with cross-functional teams including geology, operations, reservoir and production engineering
- Demonstrated track record of success in problem diagnosis, solution design, and execution of sweep improvement techniques
- History of innovation in developing or adapting emerging technologies in conformance treatments
- Proficiency in technical and economic software packages - OFM or DSS, LOWIS, OPENWELLS, PEEP, MS Office- Access
- Ability to lead informally
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
