Chief Mine Geologist-Underground Gold
Location: Saudi Arabia
My client is one of the largest Middle Eastern mining companies with great reputation in the energy industry. They are urgently seeking a Chief Mine Geologist to come on board to provide geological direction in one of their prestigious Gold underground developments.
Leading the operations of the Mine Geology department, your responsibilities include:
*Supervising the activities of personnel assigned to the Mine Geology department. Performs supervisory duties at the level established by Management for this position.
*Conducting geological studies to generate orebody target areas and monitoring their exploration through the development of geological concepts and ideas based on available geological data.
*Ensuring that orebody is evaluated, interpreted and mined efficiently and economically.
*Monitoring grade of the ore resource/reserve mined on a daily, monthly and yearly basis to ensure that the orebody is maximized and desired grades are achieved.
*Calculating and updating ore resource/reserve for the mine on a yearly basis and provides realistic mining geological scenario for targets as developed by Exploration Department and participates in feasibility studies of other projects.
*Developing short and long term exploration policies, geological database and knowledge of the orebody to enable mined ore to be replenished.
*Manages the ore resources by setting strategic goals and objectives and ensuring strict adherence and implementation.
The ideal candidate should be degree qualified and has a minimum of 10 years work experience with at least 2 years in senior supervisory position. Experience in Gold is essential and proficiency in using mining software such as Surpac is required.
This is a residential role based near Jeddah. You will be working with a multinational team on the well-equipped mine site from Sunday to Thursday. Excellent accommodation and meals are provided, plus attractive tax free expat salary package and relocation assistance.
