Key Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
• A degree in Geology essential. MSc, PhD preferred
• Minimum 10 years oil and gas industry experience essential. Ideally you will have 20 years.
• Broad based petroleum geological experience essential.
• Previous experience with an operator advantageous.
• Development/production geology is highly advantageous.
• First-rate report writing skills paying great attention to detail essential.
• High degree of numeracy and analytical skills as accuracy and thoroughness are essential requirements in the job.
• Excellent written and spoken English essential.
• Flexibility and adaptability in a small team.
• Strong verbal communication skills essential - must be able to convey information and ideas coherently.
• A strong desire to develop and deliver a successful service.
• Flexible approach – happy to contribute to other projects and Company activities.
Job Description
Reporting to the Technical Director, this role comprises many functions including:
• Become competent in the Company’s services, workflows and practices.
• Compile Field Evaluation Reports to the Company’s set format and style:
o Reports consist of text of 4000-6000 words, about 25-30 figures, and tables of field/reservoir/engineering parameters.
o Reports are constructed mainly from published information, provided by the Company.
o Reports are to be presented ‘drafting-ready’ to the associate drafting company.
o You will be required to implement all editorial amendments and QC the drafted reports
• Meet the agreed annual target of between 10 and 30 reports per year. Each report will take between 3 and 10 days to complete (average 5 days).
• Provide technical input to other Company projects as well as product development.
• Interact with Clients as required.
• Support the marketing effort.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and challenges in relation to exploration/production and development.
• Attend industry events and conferences as required.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Geologist as you will analysis and report on global fields and provide input to various projects and departments. Working for a friendly and expanding Company with a flat organisational structure, you will contribute and influence product and Company development in this role.
