Job Description
Our Client -
An independent oil and gas company who currently hold numerous assets across the UK North Sea, Dutch North Sea and West of Shetlands. The company are currently undergoing a major growth phase and are seeking a strong geological advisor to lead the technical aspect of exploration for the business. The main aims of the organisation are to further develop their prospective resource base and move into full operatorship in the near future.
Job Description -
This role will work closely with the Exploration Manager to provide technical expertise to existing exploration programmes and new licensing rounds, whilst assisting other members of the business in geology related deliverables, from their Head office in London. The position has been developed due to the expansion of the organisation and the number of exploration licenses they have been successful in gaining through recent rounds.
The role will include overseeing and leading projects across the SNS gas fields, CNS and WoS. This will include overseeing New ventures, farm-ins, licensing round applications, data room evaluation and assisting the transition of the organisation into an operator in the near future.
Candidate Requirements -
In order to be successful in this position candidates must hold the following attributes:
- Degree qualification(s) in geology or a similar discipline
- Extensive experience in exploration of North Sea assets
- Extensive experience in conducting licensing round and farm-in negotiations
- Excellent technical knowledge of North Sea geology
- Membership to a relevant professional body
- Ideally experience of working within an operator environment, and assisting organisations moving to into operator status
- A strong all-round G&G knowledge base
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience or an understanding of how independent oil companies operate
