Technical Trainer, Geophysicist
Location - Houston
My client are one of the industry leading international geoscience seismic service companies in the oil & gas industry, they are currently looking for an experienced Geophysicist for a Technical Trainer role in their Houston, TX office.
As Technical Trainer you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of technical training and documentation for Geophysicists in the Imaging department.
Main responsibilities:
-Maintain training program while creating new training and documentation for all aspects of time and depth processing as needed.
-Provide teaching for Imaging staff through training classes.
-Keep an up to date knowledge of the company's time and depth software and processing flows.
-Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructural methods including individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
-Develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, test data sets, multimedia visual aids, and computer tutorials.
-Asses and report on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.
Essential candidate requirements:
-B.S Degree in Geosciences
-8 + years' experience in seismic processing
-Sound knowledge of time and depth seismic data processing
-Broad knowledge of geophysical/geological concepts
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong project management, planning and organizational skills
-Experienced in UNIX and/or Linux software.
