Looking for a job as a wellsite geologist
Hello everybody,
My name is Bogdan, I am a 32 years old geologist from Romania. I have just discovered this forum and it looks like a good place to spend time online for all the petroleum geology professionals. Like many of my colleagues, I entered the industry as a mudlogging geologist. After almost 5 years of experience, I find myself working as a data engineer and unit manager. My job has evolved into a highly technical job involving data acquisition, quality control and distribution to the interested parties. It is precisely this technical part that caused me to drift away from my geological background. I want to return to true geology, and my best bet would be finding a job as a wellsite geologist. That is why I am hoping that maybe some of you may have some tips or interesting experiences to share regarding transitioning from mudlogging to wellsite geology. I am currently applying online when I see some good opportunities, but most jobs already require previous experience as a geologist.
