They are currently recruiting for the position of Geo-information Management Analyst, based in Iraq.
Job Description
As Geomatics Geo-Information Management Analyst you will:
- Provide expertise and support in geo-information to the business, actively participating in a global peer network.
- Play a leading role in strengthening geomatics links to activities such as exploration, geophysics, engineering/design projects, operations and well engineering.
- Play a critical role in defining and building interfaces between geomatics and various workflows in existing and new areas of the business. Examples are exploration or new ventures and smart fields or down hole surveying integrity, respectively.
- Design and deliver geo-information solutions, including mapping and spatial analysis, in support of project team activities.
- Develop and maintain spatial data management systems.
- Plan and execute projects to provide new services, tools and products to customers.
- Actively take on a coaching role for young geo-information analysts, transferring relevant technical knowledge and knowledge of workflows.
Skills & Experience
- Broad understanding of the EP life cycle and the role of geomatics in its key activities and a deep appreciation of vital role of correct position information, spatial data integrity and data quality in all phases of the EP life cycle
- Extensive skills in the use of GIS software tools, including GIS scripting, web development and supplementary data manipulation tools.
- Extensive skills in (spatial) analysis, management and visualisation/presentation of geo-information, the design and implementation of geo-data models and the design and management of spatial information systems.
- Adequate understanding of associated disciplines such as geodesy, remote sensing, cartography and geography and the ability to apply relevant principles from those disciplines.
- Proficiency in the use of Windows-based personal productivity tools.
- Proactive attitude, seeking creative, novel ways to analyse and present geo-information to improve Geomatics support of upstream business processes.
- Ability to translate customer requirements into effective geo-information solutions and expert advice.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective relation with contractors and customers regarding project objectives, plans, and costs.
- Excellent influencing skills, based on effective balancing of listening and advocacy skills.
- Ability to balance a short-term, delivery-driven business-focus with long-term strategic vision.
- Active external focus, keeping abreast with developments in the geo-information market from a business and technical perspective.
- Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, applied in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment, in which diversity is valued.
- Strong communication skills, effective in timeliness and clarity, as well as effective presentation skills.
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
