Our client is a major joint Oil & Gas company operating over three continents and employ over 1,000 people worldwide.

They are currently recruiting for the position of Petrophysics Advisor, based in Doha, Qatar.

Job Description

Support the Geosciences section including the input/output of Petroleum Engineering data to various project databases (PDSs) and assist the team in the manipulation/transfer/loading of data.

• Responsible for loading into company databases and catalogues, a wide range of data types from a variety of media such as tapes, file tapes, file transfers and through keyboard entry, etc.


• Perform data QA/QC functions


• Maintain data catalogues, inventories and comprehensive audit trails for all input data.


• Assist users to move/transfer/import/export/output data between project areas, applications and databases.


• Assist users by performing basic data manipulation to ready data for specialist interpretation.

Skills & Experience

• Strong PC skills with knowledge of Unix Workstation environment.


• Familiar with database operations and concepts


• Familiar with Petroleum Engineering and Geoscience data types


• Concern for meticulous accuracy of the data


• Strong organisational skills


• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in the English language


• Vast industry experience


• Expert knowledge of Microsoft office products


• Awareness of UNIX environment and basic IRIX and SOLARIS commands


• Degree in Petrophysics, Geology, Science or Engineering


• Thorough knowledge of petrophysical and geological analysis, well logging and log analysis.

This is a contract position.

The rate for this position is negotiable.
