Our client requires an experienced Geotechnical Analyst to join its Technical Computing organisation. The successful candidate must have a strong Geotechnical Support background as well as energy, and aptitude to deliver results.
Key Requirements
REQUIRED
• Strong grounding in Geotechnical support
• Understanding of Subsurface workflows
• Excellent people skills and strong customer relationship skills
• Ability to interface across different parts of the business and geographical locations
PREFERRED
• Knowledge of Paradigm software suite including EPOS, Geolog, and GOCAD
• Well and Seismic data management within Openworks/R5000
• Familiarity with Linux as well as basic scripting skills and Schlumberger's Petrel/Studio, Open Spirit
• Good Oracle DBA knowledge
• Good license management knowledge
• Strong Linux/WINDOWS system administration skills
• Knowledge of Schlumberger's Eclipse suite and other Reservoir Engineering applications such as OFM
• Other proprietary applications such as ArcGIS, Geo, Jason, Hampson Russell, PowerExplorer, FLEXlm • Strong verbal/written communication skills
Job Description
The role is within a support team, which provides support for applications in the following of our client’s business functions:
• Geological
• Geophysical and Reservoir Characterisation
• Drilling & Completions
• Reservoir Engineering
• Seismic Processing
In additions, the team provides sub-surface data support to asset teams and the Earth Science Department.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
• Support of all of our client Geotechnical Applications across all of their sites
• Provide 3rd level support for the Geotechnical support teams in our clients various business units
• Project manage the implementation of new/upgraded applications
• Test and implement new solutions
• Provide sub-surface data support
• Coordinate with our clients Houston team and act as conduit for business units in Europe, Africa, & Asia Pac
• Maintain broad understanding of upstream business
• Maintain good understanding of customer support requirements, business priorities and IT processes for continual support and offer enhancement recommendations
• Maintain strong business knowledge of systems supported and how they are used
• Work with our clients technology group and other Upstream Business Units to ensure adherence to our clients standards, knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices
• Actively participate in team collaboration opportunities
• Follow all applicable standards
• Participate in Information Risk management processes to ensure compliance
• Demonstrate our clients corporate behaviours at all times
• Fully participate in company and IT safety initiatives
