lead a unit of geologists specialised in reservoir characterisation, structural geology and geomodeling. Task of the group is to deliver special services in these disciplines to the operational companies worldwide and provide the community with integrated reservoir models for development projects and specialized solutions. In order to realise the high quality of the products the candidate requires a sound understanding in petrophysics and reservoir engineering. A high degree of specialized knowledge in at least one of the specific subjects is a necessity in order to work technically herself/himself and take on a technically leading role in the company. As Head of Unit the candidate will have a mentoring function for staff in the team as well as on demand in other locations and will coordinate technical services to be delivered by the team in close cooperation with the other discipline heads.

Key Skills
Expert in one or more and highly competent in the following skill areas:

• Structural geology with experience in extensional and compressional regimes
• Structural restorations, fracture characterisation and modelling
• Building of geomodels to represent complex structures in reservoir grids
• Building facies models at reservoir scale with an understanding of numerical methods
• High resolution reservoir stratigraphy
- Experience in various depositional environments carbonate and/or siliciclastic
- Core description, facies analysis, petrography, rock typing
- Formations evaluation
- Development geology

Knowledge Requirements
• Extended Experience in at least one major geological or structural modeling package (Petrel, RMS, GOCAD/SKUA, 2D/3D-MOVE)
• Basics of reservoir engineering and petrophysics
• Structural geology
• Sedimentology

Objectives of the job

The candidate will lead a unit of geologists specialised in reservoir characterisation, structural geology and geomodeling. Task of the group is to deliver special services in these disciplines to the operational companies worldwide and provide the community with integrated reservoir models for development projects and specialized solutions. In order to realise the high quality of the products the candidate requires a sound understanding in petrophysics and reservoir engineering. The candidate needs to have documented knowledge in a broad range of methods across geoscience disciplines. A high degree of specialized knowledge in at least one of the specific subjects is a necessity in order to work technically herself/himself and take on a technically leading role in the company. As Head of Unit the candidate will have a mentoring function for staff in the team as well as on demand in other locations and will coordinate technical services to be delivered by the team in close cooperation with the other discipline heads. The candidate will be involved in setting up best practise guidelines in close collaboration with the OPCOs and the technical specialists in his/her area of expertise.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Heading a team of approximately 10 G&G specialists

• Take on a technically leading role in the team as well as the entire company

• Identify service demands in the OPCOs worldwide, develop work programs with the project managers and advise them; organise the services in the group accordingly in close cooperation with heads of units geophysics and seismic interpretation

• Building close relationships with technical staff and project managers in OPCOs

• Initiating or improving corporate best practice approaches for geological modeling reservoir characterization and structural geology workflows

• Cooperating closely with and contributing to the corporate skill networks

• Delivering technical contributions to integrated reservoir modeling projects

• Support the development and application of new technologies in close cooperation with the technology group

Additional Requirements

Fluent English, spoken and written

Experience

Experience in E&P business or related jobs (>10 years).
