VP Resource Modelling and Exploration, Small International Mining Operator, Brazil
My client is a small international mining operator in Canada with their head office in Toronto.
They are working on a large Iron Ore project in Brazil and require a Principal Resource Geologist to help to design and execute exploration programs to feasibility and facilitate all geological and mine modeling. The role is based near Belo Horizonte in Brazil.
Other key responsibilities of the role include:
Set-up geological model in-house.
Work closely with VP Geology to design and execute an exploration program with the view of delivering a PEA by 31 October 2013.
Work closely with consultants to design a block model, mine plan and production schedule as part of the PEA study.
Act as competent person for NI 43-101 sign off.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have experience in resource modeling with well-respected geological consultant firms as well as on the ground practical mine experience with a major operator. Very strong abilities in geostatistics, variography and linear and non-linear estimation methods. Experience in designing and implementing QA/QC procedures to NI 43-101 is a must. The candidate has been part of an operational mine team and has been responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day block selection and updating of the model to reflect reality and impact on the mine plan. Must be highly skilled in operating Gemcom and Datamine and preferably experience with Vulcan. Experience with modeling and operating gold mine deposits as a mine geologist is a must.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree from a recognized University in Geology
