Resource Estimation Manager, Global Mining Consultancy - Vancouver, Canada
My client is a leading global engineering consultancy with an expanding mining division. Their Vancouver centre of mining excellence has an immediate opportunity for a Resource Estimation Manager to lead their successful resource team.
The successful applicant will have overall responsibility to provide technical leadership on projects, studies and audits as well as providing project support across the business.
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing technical leadership to a diverse mining engineering team ranging from junior to Principal level staff.
- Developing geological models in support of resource estimates.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis.
- Performing variography and grade interpolation as well as verification and validation of resource models.
- Classifying high grade mineral deposits.
- Performing grade control and reconciliation studies.
Key requirements of this role include:
- Degree in Geology or related field
- 10 years minimum experience in resource development, operations and geology with a focus on mineral deposit evaluation.
- Registered Geologist or eligibility to register with a relevant professional association
- Experience in computerized resource estimation and ore body modeling with a proven record of technical competence.
- Proficiency in Datamine, MineSight, Gemcom or Vulcan.
- Qualified person under N1-43101
