Key Requirements


Master's Degree in Geophysics, Math, Physics, or Engineering. 3 to 7 years of related Geophysical experience in imaging or model building. Practical knowledge of seismic imaging and velocity model building workflows. 2 Years experience in testing of internal software in support of scientific user base. Working knowledge of seismic processing. Ability to utilize and test software in an incomplete state prior to final cod changes.


Job Description


Geophysical Analyst group plays a critical role in ensuring the final quality of the products and services the company provides. This group is comprised of industry experts in the fields of time and depth imaging, and ensuring that relevant new technology developments are utilized to full advantage. This group also acts as an interface between pure research & development activities on one hand and production and production and maximum benefit to the imaging project. Working with a team of geophysical specialists and advisors the Geophysical Analyst provides key geophysical tool support, and assists with the development, maintenance and organization of technical knowledge in the time processing domain which supports Seismic/Geophysical processing and imaging solutions. Works effectively with software team counterparts to test, and maintain robust systems that meet internal customer requirements.

SUMMARY: provide testing and support of innovative seismic imaging and velocity model building tools.

SOFTWARE TESTING:

Provide detailed geophysical testing company's existing and emerging algorithms and software products.

Ensure that products meet specifications and objectives both geophysically and operationally.

Provide technical feedback to developers on geophysical issues and operational hurdles. Champion the cause of the user to ensure the best product.

Develop testing plans for specific new features and regression testing.

Create synthetic datasets as necessary to perform testing.

Documentation of issues, maintenance of bug database, report of testing progress.

SUPPORT:

Provide technical support to internal users and feedback issues to R&D.

Assist with documentation and training efforts.
