Job Description
Our client is a major Mining and Oil & Gas production company based in Aberdeen and operating in the North Sea
As Senior Geologist(Exploration) your main responsibilities will include
Geological Tasks within the team with a focus on regional and semi-regional interpretations, play fairway analysis, licence evaluations, prospect generation and exploration focussed recommendations. Reservoirs are likely to be dominantly gravity flow deposits, but a variety of clastic and carbonate reservoirs are also likely to be evaluated.
Regional geology & Basin modelling, Source and charge models
Sequence strat evaluations
Geological models and concepts
Volumetric calculations and Risk assessment
Static model building - using Petrel application suite
Job skills
Essential
Extensive experience
Technical problem solving
Acquisitions and farm ins
Licence evaluations and applications
Operated projects
Technically astute fit-for-purpose evaluations
Supervision of contractor studies
Preferred
Knowledge of deepwater depositional environments (gravity flow deposits)
Good understanding of structural geology
Knowledge of geocellular modelling
Knowledge of Landmark and/or Petrel suite of programmes
Knowledge of geocellular modelling
Construction of technical work plans and schedules.
Education/Qualifications
Essential
Geoscience degree or equivalent.
Preferred
MSc or PhD in geological subject
