Job Description


Senior Processing Geophysicist. Bedford, United Kingdom. Salary dependent on experience.

The client provides solutions to oil and gas Exploration and Production companies across the globe in the form of geo-scientific data products and services to assist with licensing rounds and the preparation of regional data programs. The client invests in multi-client data projects in frontier, emerging and mature markets worldwide that make up a data library of seismic imaging, well data and interpretive products and services. In addition to extensive global geophysical and geological data libraries that include multi-client seismic data, magnetic and gravity data, digital well logs, production data and directional surveys, the client also offers advanced processing and imaging services, interpretation products, permanent reservoir monitoring and data integration solutions.

The Role:
The client requires a Senior Seismic Processing Geophysicist who will be responsible for all phases of 2D and 3D time and/or depth projects including generation of processing flows, parameter selection and velocity interpretation. Other responsibilities include interfacing with clients (internal or external) regarding project status and quality control and may include mentoring and/or managing other personnel.

Location:
Bedford, United Kingdom

Duties:
*Perform parameter testing and evaluation for all pre-processing and imaging steps
*Execute and/or oversee execution of production and QC
*Ensure projects meet quality and turnaround goals
*Oversee quality control of processing projects performed

Job Requirements:
*Bachelors or advanced degree in Geophysics, Geology, Physics or Maths preferred, but will consider other degrees
*A minimum of 7 years of experience in processing; experience in time and/or depth processing desirable
*Enjoys working in a team environment but can work independently
*Good grasp of geophysical and geological principles
*Advanced problem solving and multi-tasking skills are needed
*Experience with UNIX and/or Linux based software packages and workstations

Qualifications:
*Ability to identify data problems and demonstrate workflow of solutions
*Strong leadership and communication skills. Good command of the English language
*Motivated to produce superior quality products while adhering to project timelines
*Proficient in the use of MS Office especially PowerPoint
*Ability to manage projects proficiently with little supervision
