Superintendent-Geology

Location: Papua New Guinea

My client is an international leading Copper and Gold producer with mine operations across the world.
One of their projects in PNG is currently looking for a Superintendent to join their Exploration team.

Job responsibilities:

*Planning, supervision and implementation of resource delineation and specific geological and geotechnical drilling programs in accordance with company safety and environmental policies and statutory requirements

*Improvement and or development of effective geology and geotechnical procedures and maintenance of QAQC programs for sampling

*Development of geological concepts to aid in the immediate resource extension, specific studies such as geometallurgy and geotechnical along with brownfield exploration

*Assist with compilation of all existing geological data to produce 3D geological, structural and alteration models plus integrate with regional/project mapping.

*Preparing technical reports, project generation and evaluation, some resource estimation implementation and coordination of field project work programs and supervision and coordination of contractors

The successful candidate will possess the following:

*A Bachelor degree in Geology or similar discipline

*A minimum of 8 years relevant geological experience with direct exposure to diamond drilling programs

*Experience in resource delineation and resource modeling projects

*The ability to lead and drive safety and team leadership and demonstrable experience with safety culture, systems and processes.

*High level of negotiation, planning, analytical and problem solving skills

*Previous experience in Gold and Copper exploration will be seen as an advantage
