OPC is currently seeking a Senior Petrophysicist for its client, a major oil company based in Qatar. The consultant would be on a 1 year renewable contract and would be supplied with a luxury apartment / Villa with all bills and utilities as well as an attractive expat day rate.

Key Requirements

Requirements.
• Prepare Open Hole and Cased Hole logging programs for both rig and rigless operations
• Validate and approve Contractor’s service tickets and monthly invoices.
• Ensure timely delivery of logged data in proper format to FDM2 Section.
• Ensure quality of the data and the final log prints.
• Logging job report and quick look interpretations of different logs run.

Job Description

• Minimum of = 10 years of related oil field experience in open and cased hole logging operations and log analysis. The incumbent is responsible for providing Open Hole and Cased Hole log interpretation, including general Formation Evaluation and Production Log processing, proficiency in using industry standard software’s like ELAN and windows-based software like Interactive Petrophysics. He is also expected to :

• Have good understanding on the functionalities of both open and cased hole logging tools.

• In the event of borehole/logging problems, must be able to effectively contribute in decision-making process in modifying the logging program to meet the logging objectives.

• Must be able to perform quick look production logging interpretation and corrosion and cement evaluation tools.

• Must be able to quality control logging operations and familiar with Petrophysical Evaluation Software.

• Good understanding of LWD/MWD tools

• To have experience in carbonate reservoirs.

• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment.

• Willingness and ability to go to offshore Rigs whenever is required.

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the company, as well as commercial awareness.

• Enthusiasm and good abilities to cooperate and to work with a multi-cultural workforce.

• Desired to have experience in conducting short Petrophysical study.

• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

• Petrophysical Software (GeoFrame/Interactive Petrophysics)

• Production log interpretation software ( Emeraude)

Working in the office. However, whenever is required, must be willing to work at the well site / offshore to witness both Open and Cased Hole logging operations.
