Post subject:  Books - Reservoir Characterization

I'm currently a senior in Petroleum Engineering but I feel like the my understanding of geology is rather weak. Not only do I want to learn geology from personal interest but I also know that it will help me when I begin working full time.

Next semester I am taking a course called Reservoir Description/Characterization which is a senior design course that is cross-listed in the geology and geophysics department. There is no suggested texts for this course, however, I know that it will involve a lot of log correlation, core analysis and other processes using Geographix for which knowing the geology side of things would really help my understanding of the data and problem at hand.

I am currently reading the Elements of Petroleum Geology book by Selley and picked up another book on Basin Analysis. I have been doing some research to find books that might be useful for this subject but I wanted to get some advice from this forum on the best suited books in my case. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
