Post subject:  pore pressure

Hello,

this is my first time here in this forum, and I'd like to have some answers to my questions.

I have a project which talks about oil exploration. but when it comes to choose the casing design for drilling, i must have the pore pressure, and I am really confused how to get it.

I have log data and core data. they include "gamma ray, sonic v1 and v2, porosity, grain density, permeability and the saturation of oil, water and gas" and also I have a sample discription. in addition I have the area and the depth

so how i get the pore pressure from there ?

I will be pleased if you answer my Q...

thanks

Priliminary Pore Pressure can be done, with the data you have mentioned.

Start with Density = to estimate Overbuden gradient
Use Gamma ray for Shale picking.
Use the shale points of Sonic and Resistivity for Pore Pressure Estimation using Eaton method.
Finally, you can use Eaton method for Fracture gradient Estimation.

Formula's are available in online for method.
