Does anybody have experience with the software package PetroAnalyst by Plate River Associates? Our company is expanding exploration activities into a frontier basin and risk mapping is one of prime concerns at this moment. Later in a lead development stage we will start looking into the details. For know we want to combine key geological chance factors in to a spatial mapping system to produce traffic light maps. We know our approach but want a streamlined procedure to have a six man team work on it simultaneously. In the past we used GIS, but found that it required a lot of customization and a lot of workhours were lost in IT and technical work. We want to cut those hours and find a more intuitive workflow. Is PetroAnalyst the best software package for this and are there alternatives? thanks in advance!! -Jerry |

The way i understand it from our GIS team is that PetroAnalyst is actually a GIS plugin or a t least compliant with GIS mapping. I don't know if this is a problem, but I do believe it saves time and has a good built in workflow and data integration system. Don't know any further specifics though. cheers, Jacob |
