Dear all Professionals in petrophysics and geology Can every body Help us to understand the theory and application and interpretation in bore hole imaging log in open hole log (FMI - FMI Plus - XRMI - STAR - ---- etc) and Cased hole log (Sonic Imager - Cement bond Log ) . Thanks in Advanced . wael |

Aren't these tools basically more highres versions of the tools are usually used for logging. The 360 view requires an internal compass and I believe the cement bond logger uses different source-receiver offsets to identify the different sonic speeds of the casing, cement and formation. |

I am still naive in this field but I am sure no one can explain so much in an email. There are at least couple of pages of theory for CBL and one week of training for Borehole Imgaing tool. |

FMI images provide critical information if the rock structure and sedimentary features are significant determinants of formation productivity. |
