Post subject:  Porosity - Velocity transform

Hello,

I wouldlike to have a discussion about the resistivity (or porosity) - velocity transform. Indeed, it exists some empirical equations which permit to do this transformation (Faust, Smith, Wyllie ...). These equations use Archie's law which link the total resistivity and the water resistivity to the porosity. It works for saturated, clean and consolidated soils.

I wouldlike to know if this kind of transformation is possible for unsaturated (dry) near-surface rocks, and in particular with clays even if in theory, it seems to be difficult.

Don't hesitate to share your ideas,

Thank you in advance
