Can someone please point me to published papers on the effect of shallow velocity effects due to variations in permafrost thickness (and possibly sub-ice water ponds) on reflection discontinuities on old (1972) seismic acquired in the winter, onshore Alaska. |

Interesting topic!! Not so much on the effects on seismic response and actually no examples, but this might be interesting: http://ine.uaf.edu/autc/files/2011/02/I ... _11_03.pdf Can't login to onepetro from home, but may have something there! |

What are some interesting topics for debate concerning geology? here is an example I was given to help give some guidance Should we have rebuilt the city of New Orleans? I obviously don't really care what anyone thinks about this question so don't go off thinking too much about that. I just need more topics/questions for debate that are somewhat related to geology. __________________________________ ~ ~ ~ |
