Hello Users,

I am facing a problem while loading velocity ASCII file in Petrel. Three option is there, diskos, Esso & statoil, but they accept velocity for 2D seismic survey,
I want to load for 3D seismic, and I am using XYTV ascii format. Shall I use point attribute option while import...

Yes, points with attributes is your best bet. Then create a 3D grid and upscale the points into it. You then need to use moving average or kriging to distribute values in the empty cells and then you can use it for velocity modeling.

Thanks, but cant we use Operations tab under Points operations from the settings of point time velocity data which I imported to make average velocity.
I have used that option but in the dialogue there is a option to insert point data as velocity attribute where it does not allow me to take point velocity data as input.

can clarify this as well.
