The method includes firing a string shot UNDER PRESSURE in the vicinity of
The desired fractures which will initiate fractures in every direction. The
Fractures must then be extended and propped by conventional methods.

The well stimulated was API #04
Kettleman N Dome Field
11-22S-17E
Kings County, California
3-1-2001

Before stimulation the well pumped 9 B per day.
After stimulation the well flowed 100 B per day.

The packer depth was 8,790 ft

Perfs 8,825 to 8,855. Total perfs 216

Charge: 4 strands 80 grain per ft HMX primacord 20 ft long
Centered at 8854 ft
Fired at surface pressure of 2,000 lb per ft.

Post frac model matches frac data by assuming 4 parallel fracs indicating possible branches to natural fracs or sand stringers some distance from the wellbore.

After cleanup, well flowed at about 100 B per day.

Well was stimulated by BJ using 46,500 gals of fluid and 126,500 lbs of proppant.
