structural geology is the branch of geology which deals with the study of various structures which are produced by differential forces i.e compressional, tensional and shear force.
structural geology plays very important role in the searching of hydrocarbons because structural traps hold the hydrocarbons and also very important for the ground water reserviours. There are number of structures found on the earth surface and subsurface.
It is also known as the archetecture of the rocks.
folds,fault,anticline,syncline etc are few examples.
