Post geology of gilgit baltistan
Gilgit Baltistan is located between the great Himalayan range. The Himalayas are formed 200 million years ago by the collision of two continental plates Indian plate and Asian plate. There are more than 40 peaks in the area which have more than 14000 feet height. This God gifted area is full of very important minerals like uranium, sulfur, gold and many gemstones as well.I also belong to this area but the people of gilgit baltistan do not know about the importance of these minerals and the goveronment is also neglecting this area for more than 60 years.I being a student of geology want to explore the minerals of gilgit baltistan and want to help the poor people of this area.

Sounds like an interesting area. Have there been any exploration attempts or proven reserves?

Yes There was many surveys carried out by different mineral companies in different time frames. Also surveyed by NAMDC(Northern Areas Mineral Devolopment Corporation) in the past. It is proved that Gilgit Baltistan is rich in minerals and gemstone. Only it need to be explore under government supervision. Its must be defined the revenue which must be spend mostly on the devolopment of that poor region.
