Intial negative RPS in up pass in PLT - Why?

Post Intial negative RPS in up pass in PLT - Why?
In case of PLT log in the up pass the spinner reading in revolutions per second (rps) shows negative reading intially then becomes zero and then becomes positive. Can anyone explain what is the logic behind this transition?
