Senior Vice President, Engineering & Operations, Oil & Gas division, position will be responsible for working with local project teams as well as the global technical team to plan, staff and operate the exploration and production phases of projects in unconventional resources around the world.
Key Requirements
Education: Engineering degree(s) from recognized universities. Technical background , in any of facilities engineering, production engineering, reservoir engineering, and drilling and completions engineering.
Experience: The candidate would have at least 15 years of experience in conventional and unconventional oil and gas field operations. Specific background that would be very useful is leading the development and project management for heavy oil/bitumen and/or SAGD production in Canada or Venezuela. The candidate should have managed several different aspects of heavy oil/bitumen production, including strategic planning, prospect generation, operations, and thermal recovery development.
The candidate would have demonstrated the capability of leading the development of large oil and gas projects, with capacities of at least 50,000 barrels/day, and demonstrated the ability to integrate multi-disciplinary teams with operations in different countries.
Oil and gas background: Executive capacity positions should have been in E&P at a VP or higher level within a major oil and gas company.
An advantage would be knowledge of regulatory frameworks and experience working within sensitive environmental areas.
Job Description
SVP of Engineering & Operations for its Oil & Gas subsidiary. The position is responsible for working with the various operational teams in locations globally to ensure that the company’s pre-commercial and commercial projects are planned, developed, constructed and operated on time, on budget and following the operational standards of the industry. Furthermore, the SVP of Engineering & Operations will work to identify vendors and other resources to support the global operations, as needed, and will work with corporate management to ensure that the operations are planned and executed to conform with strategic, financial and technical objectives. Unconventional resources currently being pursued by Oil & Gas include: oil shale, heavy oil and tight oil in the U.S., Israel and Asia.
