Location: Austria > Eisenstadt


One of the leading International Exploration and Production Companies is looking for Senior Petrophysicist with good geomechanical background to be based in Astria, Vienna.

Minimum years of experience required is 10 years.

European residency is one of the main requirements apart of technical skills.



Minimum requirements:

· University degree Master in Petroleum Engineering, Physics Geology or similar

Geology or similar

· 10 years plus of relevant experience

· Ability to work in multi-d


Key Requirements


· University degree Master in Petroleum Engineering, Physics Geology or similar

Geology or similar

· 10 years plus of relevant experience

· Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.

· Good knowledge of petrophysical interpretation techniques.

· Ability to apply proper petrophysical & borehole-geological interpretation techniques

in all kind of environments (clastic / carbonate reservoirs).

· Experience in geomechanics interpretation workflows.

· Proficiency in applying petrophysical interpretation software packages.

· Project management skills.

· Fluent command of English language.


Job Description



Main responsibilities:


- Provide petrophysical input to well logging programs to meet geomechanical objectives of optimized drilling and production operations. - Perform petrophysical well analysis as part of pre- and post-drill studies and deliver necessary input data for single well based and eventually 3D geomechanics models.Contribute to preparation of technical workflows, guidelines, and standards. - Plan and prepare, in cooperation with drilling engineers, reservoir engineers, geologists, and external service providers special core analysis (SCAL) programs to reduce uncertainties in the well planning, well stimulation, and field production processes. - Provide discipline specific quality assurance to peer reviews to allow sound technical evaluation of drilling and production optimization projects. Willingness to provide petrophysical support to business development projects & data room visits to allow sound technical evaluation of E&P projects. - Willingness to coordinate & supervise logging operations and perform quality control to ensure that Contractor delivers according to contract and evaluation objectives are met; willingness to perform petrophysical analysis of log data (single well analysis) and assist customer in decision making (P&A or run casing, selection of perforation intervals, etc.). - Coach and mentor technical and junior staff. - Document all technical work performed in the relevant systems.
