Engineering multinational is looking for a Snr. GIS Expert to their HQ in Vienna.
5+ yrs of experience in similar role + fluent English required, should be authorized to stay and work permanently in the EU.
Must have Sound GIS skills + Good knowledge of GIS and CAD software (ArcGIS 9.xx is a must, AutoCAD)
Key Requirements
• Geodesy / Topographical Engineering Degree
• A minimum 5 years of relevant GIS experience preferably in oil and gas industry
• Sound GIS skills, ability to identify problems and deliver solutions through effective communication
• Good knowledge of GIS and CAD software (ArcGIS 9.xx is a must, AutoCAD)
• Good command of English (written and oral communication skills)
• Willing to learn and have the ability to perform effectively under pressure
• Self-motivated personality with sound interpersonal skills
• Having team spirit and adaptable to a dynamic environment
Job Description
• To generally maintain Company’s GIS, follow up data upload and ensure that all pre-defined information has been uploaded according to the Project procedures and standards
• To ensure that the GIS Procedures are fully understood and implemented by all involved parties including revision and modifications
• To plan liaison with counterparts within the organisation with regard to additional requirements and requests for further developments
• To ensure that the GIS data quality checks are implemented and managed throughout the Project
• To review and evaluate existing procedures/plans, identify additional requirements and prepare new ones if required
• To administer project Pipeline Information Platform GIS database (Oracle, Access)
• To identify and make proposals for additional project needs considering different country needs in terms of GIS data interoperability
• To review and comment on the GIS related documents, drawings and information assigned by the line manager
• To project GIS module customization including in-house programming (code writing) as per project needs
• To support discipline engineers in terms of specific project needs from the GIS platform and ensure close cooperation
• GIS data querying, reporting
• Perform other relevant tasks assigned by line manager
• Progress reporting and analyses to the line manager
