Job Description
Our client, a global operator in Spain, are looking for someone to join their New Business team in order to screen and fully evaluate potential New Ventures in order to add to their existing portfolio. This is an opportunity to add to our clients growing portfolio of assets on a global scale by having a real impact upon future New Ventures.
Main Duties
Responsibilities
-Collect, organize and interpret geotechnical data independently.
-Provide creative input to the evaluation, drawing on analogue data as appropriate
-Attend datarooms as a member of a team and assist in collecting all the required geotechnical data
-Assist in the organisation and compilation of the geo-technical data for the companies database.
-Integrate geological data (eg. well data, surface geology data, play maps and subsurface maps) together with geophysicists and reservoir engineers into an accurate understanding of the subsurface.
-Take a lead role in the estimation of gross rock volume and resource volumes in hydrocarbon fields or prospects in close collaboration with the geologist and reservoir engineers in the team
-Be prepared to take a lead role in the preparation of technical reports as well as in presentations to senior management, partners and government bodies, where appropriate
Technical Responsibilities
-BSc in Earth Science (preferred Geophysics) and Graduate (MSc or higher) from reputed University.
-Minimum of 10 years experience as a Geologist in a sub-surface environment, preferably in an international E&P operating company, with good knowledge of related geoscience disciplines
-Experience and exposure to a range of geological disciplines such as stratigraphy, geochemistry, sedimentology, structural geology
-Good knowledge and understanding of the petroleum system concepts, including mapping techniques, trap formation, basin analysis and structural geology.
-Advanced knowledge and in-depth experience of a selection of geological and geostatistical evaluation techniques and tools
-Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
-Good coordination and supervisory abilities with juniors, seniors and other disciplines
-Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both orally and in writing
