Rapidly growing junior exploration company urgently seeks a highly skilled senior explorationist to join their expanding team. This company have recently been prequalified as a licensee for the upcoming APA rounds and are looking to add some qualified staff to their team.
Key Requirements
Ideal candidates will have strong seismic interpretation skills and be experienced users of modern pc based exploration tools including Petrel and Kingdom. They will need to be a creative prospect generator with a proven track record in exploration. Candidates should be experienced working as a project lead and be used to working on the licensing in Norway. Other experience gained working internationally is an advantage but candidates are expected to have experience in mature areas and with the maturation of small discoveries. Experience working with probabilistic resource estimation and risk analysis tools such as GeoX or similar is essential. Candidates should be used to working on AVO studies and will ideally have experience of seismic modelling.
Job Description
Compile fully integrated subsurface interpretations to evaluate prospect primary risk parameters of structure presence, structure effectiveness, reservoir presence, reservoir effectiveness and charge
Evaluate prospects available through farm-ins and joint venture opportunities
Interpret technical data over existing lease inventory, finalize maps and support data, evaluate risk and prepare recommendations
Advise of geological and seismic data acquisition opportunities, seismic data reprocessing, new technology applications and technical services
Exploration plans & appropriation requests, monitor drilling wells & conduct post drill reviews
Recommend and manage geoscientific studies with internal and external service providers
Assist in the preparation of volumetric & economic analyses for prospects & well locations
Recognise and recommend commercially attractive business opportunities.
Help high-grade acreage in which to pursue new play concepts within region
Monitor/evaluate competitor activity
Build and maintain cross departmental technical relationships
