Job Description
A multinational operator headquartered in Spain is actively seeking a Senior Reservoir Geologist to join their business in Madrid.
This oil and gas company has been active in the upstream market for over fifty years and currently employs c. 11,000 members of staff worldwide. Current production rate has been quoted at 260,000 bpd and has a refining capacity in three refineries of 21 million tonnes/year.
The successful candidate will be based in Madrid, in a New Business Development team. His / Her mission will be to undertake geological screening and evaluations of new opportunities regarding development fields within a small multi-disciplinary team in a limited time frame. Other responsibilities will include:
* Perform subsurface development studies and provide geologic technical input required for the development field being evaluated.
* Screen the geological aspects of selected new business opportunities and identify critical issues.
* Plan and execute, working in conjunction with other geoscientists engineering staff and experts, fine geological reservoir models (PETREL based) and upscale them to create dynamic models for field appraisal/development.
* Participate in the field evaluation process, including risking, volumetric estimates, uncertainty assessment and supporting new possible well locations or well recompletions.
* Establish independent view: analyse and interpret raw geological data and integrate with petrophysical, geophysical and reservoir engineering evaluations.
* Perform uncertainty analysis and volumetric calculations.
The successful applicant will:
* Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Geology or Petroleum Reservoir Geoscience.
* More than 10 years hands on experience in development geology, plus some experience in New Ventures evaluation.
* Experience in the full reservoir geological modelling workflow from raw data validation and analysis, through grid building, facies and rock property modelling, using petrel application
* Experience on uncertainty analysis and volumetric using "Petrel" Standard application
* Proficiency in Petrel Software
* Fluent in English
