My client is currently looking for a top-level candidate to be in charge of their Quantitative Interpretation technical operations for their Calgary-based team. This manager level role will involve leading the current Quantitative Interpretation team whilst directing its future growth and direction.
Key Requirements
*Ensuring client projects are completed to requisite standards, budgets and timescales
*Primary focus on Canadian projects but with involvement on work throughout the Americas
*Work closely with many different clients to provide them with relevant, individual solutions
*Interact with software development team to influence new product and workflow development
*Organise and conduct relevant training and mentoring to ensure high quality levels of Quantitative Interpretation are maintained
*Liaise with clients - including providing results of projects and presentation of final project reports
*Providing necessary high-level technical support and commercial support in a variety of capacities

My client is currently looking for a top-level candidate to be in charge of their Quantitative Interpretation technical operations for their Calgary-based team. This manager level role will involve leading the current Quantitative Interpretation team whilst directing its future growth and direction. The position will require close collaboration with other company specialists (e.g. petrophysical, geophysical) in order to contribute in a significant manner to the success of the company's Canadian operations.
Additional job responsibilities include:
*Ensuring client projects are completed to requisite standards, budgets and timescales
*Primary focus on Canadian projects but with involvement on work throughout the Americas
*Work closely with many different clients to provide them with relevant, individual solutions
*Interact with software development team to influence new product and workflow development
*Organise and conduct relevant training and mentoring to ensure high quality levels of Quantitative Interpretation are maintained
*Liaise with clients - including providing results of projects and presentation of final project reports
*Providing necessary high-level technical support and commercial support in a variety of capacities
Qualifications:
Comprehensive geophysical interpretation, processing and inversion knowledge and technical ability
High-level technical ability (including Quantitative interpretation, AVO and AVA analysis, borehole seismic)
In-depth rock physics experience
Clastic, carbonate and shale experience
Oil sands and heavy oil experience
Previous background including conventional play work
Ablility to direct successful new processes and direction for Quantitative Interpretation team
Capable of taking on commercial responsibilities effectively - e.g. departmental operational profit and loss
Excellent presentation and communication abilities (internal and external)
Essential Job Experience:
10+ years of industry experience
5+ years of Canadian project experience
Excellent knowledge and experience regarding Canadian geology
Proven success in managing projects and directing a multi-disciplinary geoscience team
Excellent commercial knowledge
Education Requirements:
MSc or PhD in relevant discipline (e.g. Geology, Earth Sciences, Geophysics)
Additional academic qualifications would be beneficial
