Job Description
My client is a leading Australian oil and gas operator with interests in exploration, production and development. They have an extensive portfolio and hold a large volume of offshore exploration permits resulting in them consistently meeting their exploration targets. They are looking for a driven individual to join their dedicated team as a Principal Petroleum Systems Analyst.
The successful candidate will have experience working with a highly reputable operator in a senior position. They will be capable of leading a multidisciplinary team in order to conduct petroleum system studies both in Australia and Internationally. The team is heavily involved in using petroleum geochemistry and basin modeling methods to predict fluid properties.
A major part of the Principal Petroleum Systems Analysts duty will be to provide regular training to the team's engineers and geoscientists, as well as ensuring that the technical awareness is maintained throughout the operator's exploration projects.
The ideal candidate will have an array of relevant skills and experience. Some of these have been listed below:
*A postgraduate degree (either a PHD or MSc) in a relevant degree such as geology or geochemistry
*Minimum of 12 years' experience working within a petroleum systems analysis
*Able to competently communicate the results of basin modeling to joint venture partners and asset teams
*Experienced using multi-dimensional basin modeling packages
