Key Requirements
Manage the portfolio of E&P-specific business applications – with a focus on petro-technical applications – to effectively support the business processes along the value chain from exploration to production. Collaborate with the business to identify functional requirements and to facilitate the process of selecting appropriate/ fit-for purpose solutions. Drive group-wide harmonization and standardization of the applications, with the aim to reduce maintenance cost and capital spending.
• Strategy development and planning: Contribute to the development of the group E&P IT application strategy.
• Demand management: Identify the demand for new E&P-specific applications, contribute to the definition of requirements, create input for the annual planning cycle, work with vendors to understand new developments in the market, and propose application candidates for phase-out.
• License management: Manage the license portfolio for the E&P-specific applications. Set up mechanisms to monitor utilization, define and measure suitable KPIs, select suitable license models.
• Project management: Plan projects to select new applications or to modify/ enhance existing applications and the respective IT infrastructure components.
• Architecture management: Develop overall guiding principles for E&P applications architecture and information architecture, contribute to the definition of the technology architecture (for the underlying IT infrastructure to operate/ deliver the E&P-specific applications.
• User support and service delivery management: Collaborate with E&P users and service delivery units (MOL IS application operations) to define service scope and service level targets, review SLA achievements, act as escalation instance and contribute to problem resolution in critical cases.
• Collaboration with key stakeholders and peers: Work closely with business users and data management team of the Exploration function, align with peers from Group Downstream and Corporate IS to identify synergies and potentials for standardization
Job Description
• Higher level university, preferably with a degree in geoscience (geology, geophysics) or engineering
• Managing, implementing and/ or supporting petro-technical applications (min. 5 years)
• Industry experience
• Proven ability to design and lead change projects
• Experience in managing software portfolios
• Consulting experience is a “plus”
• Methods competence, i.e. mastery of standard methods used in IT management (software selection, portfolio management)
• Knowledge of key petro-technical applications, ideally incl. ‘hands-on’ experience
• Broad understanding of IT infrastructure and ability to define E&P-specific requirements
• Ability to navigate in a complex environment, willingness to travel internationally
• Fluency in English
