Our client is a market leading offshore survey company, providing a full range of high resolution Construction Support, Renewables & Geophysical Survey, Positioning & Remote Services in North West Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean.


They are currently recruiting for the position of Office Geophysicist, based in Holland.


Job Description


The Processing and Reporting Department is responsible for the processing, interpretation, reporting and QC of the field data acquired during offshore survey projects. Depending on client specific requirements the deliverables consist of a variable sort of products including reports, charts and GIS databases.



  • Being responsible for interpretation of geophysical data.

  • Checking geophysical data and interpretations from the field for completeness and quality.

  • Checking data precisely and keeping precise log of processing parameters.

  • Maintaining appropriate quality standards even when under pressure.

  • Completing set tasks reliably and co-operatively.

  • Compiling survey reports of assigned projects in given company format.

  • Adhering to company QA/HSE standards at all times, and demonstrate thorough awareness of and compliance with the QA/HSE system and its requirements.

  • Undertaking any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by the Manager Processing & Reporting from time to time.

  • Liaising with the Project Report Leader (nominated) regarding updating of progress and consulting when encountering problems.

  • Liaising with the (Senior) Office Surveyor, Cartographer, Team Leader and project processing team ensuring the output is correct and consistent.

  • Liaising directly with the client on occasion.

  • Reporting to the Manager Processing & Reporting.


Skills & Experience


The successful candidate will be analytical and accurate with strong writing abilities. A team player who can work on own initiative with the ability to communicate effectively with the many nationalities that make up the Processing & Reporting Department. An out-going nature to interact frequently and repeatedly with colleagues regarding project details. Flexibility is necessary and appreciated.


This position is focused on working mainly in Holland. Nevertheless, offshore assignments lasting several weeks may also be required each year.



  • MSc or BSc in Geophysics or related subject.

  • Preferable experience in pipeline inspection work.

  • Knowledge of company specific acquisition, processing and reporting software.

  • Conversant with acoustic equipment.

  • Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal and in writing).

  • The ability to adapt quickly to new software packages.

  • Be a team player and have solid computer skills.


This is a permanent position.


The salary for this position is negotiable.
