They are currently recruiting for the position of Lead Geophysicist, based in London.
Job Description
- A hands on Lead Geophysicist for their UK location to lead the geophysical activities for the New Developments projects and ensure high quality and timely deliverables. Provide support to the asset for all geophysical aspects, including, but not limited to,
- seismic interpretation,
- generation of maps,
- structural frameworks,
- seismic attributes to guide static geomodel builds,
- volumetric estimates,
- risks analysis,
- uncertainty analysis, and well planning.
- It is the duty of the Lead Geophysicist to all understand all aspects of seismic data and its interpretation and provide geophysical support to the appraisal, development or ongoing development of the New Developments projects.
- Lead the geophysical team and work with other asset team members in a collaborative style and support asset data integration.
Skills & Experience
- Fundamentals of seismic interpretation;
- Principles in seismic acquisition & processing;
- Basic structural geology and structural geology principles;
- Techniques for mapping and predicting reservoir presence and quality;
- Geotechnical Risk and Uncertainty analysis;
- Able to balance short term urgent assignments with longer term important assignments;
- Displays honesty, integrity and a strong sense of ethics in all decision and actions, role-models the "values", and displays a strong personal commitment to upholding the highest standards of HSE;
- Strong oral, listening and written communication skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver timely results, coupled with individual drive and self starting initiative and the ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising integrity;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; Personal commitment to organisational and technical excellence;
- Flexibility and learning capacity.
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree Geology or Geoscience subject or equivalent required;
- Post graduate Geoscience qualification preferred;
- Proven industry track record of delivering high quality technical work essential
- Ideally Qualified to MSc or PHD level
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
