They are currently recruiting for the position of Geoscience Applications Support Specialist, based in London.
Job Description
To provide technical geoscience support and mentoring to solve simple to complex problems, focusing on Petrel, but with additional support responsibilities for other technical PC and Linux based applications. Support will be provided via direct contact with customers, e-mail, phone and site visits to satellite offices when required.
The successful candidate must be proactive in demonstrating key workflows to the customers, offering advice and guidance, mentoring them to improve their usage and the productivity of the application suite.
You will be responsible for:-
- Tracking and evaluating support requests and maintaining all support activity on the helpdesk/knowledge database.
- Following-up on customer technical issues directly with the software vendors to ensure that problems will be resolved in a timely manner.
- Identifying future support requirements and relaying information to the relevant people.
- Keeping abreast of current and future developments of the Company's software suite and other industry technologies.
This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who can work independently, and has proven track record in supporting/providing training in technical geoscience applications. This role offers a great deal of variety and scope to further develop your technical geoscience skills in a leading global energy company.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the energy industry working in geotechnical support across a range of geotechnical applications, specialising in Petrel. The role requires a self-motivated individual, able to act independently with minimum of supervision whilst remaining a strong team player. This role may require international travel to satellite offices if required.
- Relevant Industry Experience
- Expert knowledge of Petrel
- Knowledge of Paradigm, Petrosys and other geotechnical applications
- BSc in Geoscience related discipline
- Team player adept at working in multi-disciplinary teams
- Good communication skills
This is a permanent position.
The salary for this position is negotiable.
