Exploration Manager
My Client is a major Oil and Gas Operator based in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia and due to expansion has a very exciting opportunity available for an Exploration Manager to join them, at their head offices in KL, Malaysia.
Experience Summary & Skill Profile
*Accumulated at least 20 years of working experience in the upstream (E&P) oil & gas industry under various projects and responsibilities as seismic interpreter and Exploration Manager. Acquired an in-depth technical knowledge and capability in managing exploration activities in various worldwide locations.
*Identified the petroleum system of exploration blocks and drive the exploration team to come up with prospect maturation, risking and ranking. Strategize exploration drilling and supervise the well operation.
*Drove, monitored, tracked and updated Management on the performance of exploration projects vis-à-vis plans and identified the variances in expenditures, success rates and project schedules in line with company's short term and long term plans and targets.
*Analyzed and managed the exploration project performance indicators through benchmarking within the oil and gas industry and conducting global environmental scanning on other oil operators' performances so as to establish the company as world class player in oil and gas industry.
*Reviewed the exploration programmes especially for JV and OBO environment and formulate the tracking mechanism of its performance to be in accordance with plan and long term targets.
*Monitored the legal compliance and contractual commitment so as to safeguard the company's investment and to minimise the adverse impact to the company with regards to long term business target and to uphold the company's image
*Ensure the effective and prudent management of exploration funds so as to create value and optimising the exploration cost in accordance to set objective and targets.
*Established strategic alliance and maintained working relationship with other oil operating companies and partners so as to leverage on their expertise in oil and gas investment and to contribute to the increase of reserve addition.
*Acted as Custodian of prospect inventories to develop the annual Corporate exploration work programme to take into account high ranking prospects and its' associated risks and to recommend subsequent exploration decision so as to assist company's Management to meet the exploration KPI.
*Provided coaching and developed the skill of the staff to be competent in exploration portfolio assessment in ensuring the staff has the right skill so as to contribute to the company's growth.
