My client is an international oil and gas company from Calgary with operations in the Middle East and East Africa. Due to their increased revenue over the last few years they are looking to expand their organisation and set up an office within the UK. They are looking for a senior exploration geologist to join them and run the UK office
Key Requirements
• Bachelors Degree or higher in Geology or Earth Sciences
• 10– 15 years post graduate experience within the oil and gas sector
• Experience working in North Africa and / or the Middle East
• Proven track record of working in the field as part of a team
• Superior technical skills and proficiency in 2D and 3D seismic interpretation—SMT/ Kingdom workstation experience
• Strong knowledge of geological evaluations and volumetiric estimations
• Proven experience in delivering active drilling programs
• Understanding of petrophysics and reservoir evaluations
• Ability to work autonomously and efficiently with strong organization, analytical and communication skills
• Arabic a bonus
Job Description
• Plan and implement geological data and evaluation
• Develop and evaluate new venture exploration and development opportunities
• Undertake geo– technical evaluations of existing and new ventures opportunities in the region including license round, acquisition and farm in opportunities
• Deliver 2D and 3D seismic interpretation
• Integrated basin analysis/ petroleum systems evaluations
• Contribute to multi disciplinary studies of fields, prospects and wells
• Make clear and concise recommendations to management based on technical evaluations
• Meet with government officials including licensing officials and current and prospective partners
